Frequently Asked Questions

Is the benefits database free?
Yes. The entire benefits database — all 52 jurisdictions, 58 categories, 14 tiers — is free and publicly accessible with no account required.
How current is the benefits information?
Our benefits database was last comprehensively reviewed in May 2026. Individual state entries note their review date. We recommend verifying current amounts and eligibility with your County VSO or state DVA before filing.
What does "Verify Locally" mean?
Some benefits — particularly county-level programs, locally administered grants, and benefits that change frequently — require verification with local authorities. We flag these with a "Verify Locally" indicator rather than publishing figures that may be outdated.
Does Veterans.pro cover federal VA benefits?
Yes. Our federal page covers VA disability compensation (including current 2026 COLA rates), education (GI Bill, DEA, VR&E), VA health care, home loans, life insurance, burial benefits, and more.
How do I find benefits for my specific disability rating?
Use the /benefits/tiers page to understand what your rating unlocks, then go to your state page to see all state-level benefits. The "At a Glance" table on each state page shows what each rating tier receives.
Can I compare benefits across states?
Yes. Use the /states page to compare up to 5 states side by side across 32 benefit fields. The URL updates as you select states, so you can share your comparison.
